Weekend 21st April 2012
Friday (20th) was another damp and dreary day but the comedy club was fab, Ian Stone is quite a star. First time we’ve seen him, very confident, very funny. Spent Saturday recovering and once again awaiting another Tottenham defeat, Harry can’t be given the job after this spectacular collapse. Blackpool into play offs, I do hope they get through to the play off final again. Two years ago we spent a great day in Club Wembley, drank too much champagne and Mrs Dave didn’t see much of the second half. Wonder if it will be Cardiff again?
Sunday was Marathon day, all day long wandering around St James Park looking for the way out. It’s the big metal bridge guys but it can only be approached from Bird Cage, somebody’s gotta sort that out, was same last year. Anyway, great atmosphere and for once the rain held off, well until the evening and then more of the same. After race party on Pall Mall got a bit busy and we left for the drive home around 5.30, Eddie Jordan not at the GP. Looking forward to possible trip to the NY version. Heard that someone had died during the race collapsing on Bird Cage Walk, we were too far back but did see something going on.
I see the tanker drivers again holding the country to ransom; I thought the unions had been squashed some years ago by Mrs M Thatcher et al. Somebody has got to do something we are being bled dry by opportunistic parasites including the Government. Dreadful Northern types running the country into the ground, wanabee Scargills the lot of them. Just how much is all this arbitration costing us, how costly is the legal process around getting alleged terrorists out of our country and how much is it costing us for the parasitic human rights industry? How long before we awake and smell the coffee? Let them get proper jobs, useful ones that create something worthwhile.
Qualifying for the GP was pretty good, I have to say I thought all the fuss over some disquiet in Bahrain was unnecessary, their country will we never learn to keep our noses out of other people’s business. It spoiled the build up somewhat thinking the hippie Marxist boys would get their way by claiming we all cared when not many of us gave a hoot. So a protester got shot, weren’t they lobbing petrol bombs about the place? Get one of those on one’s head and it’s gonna smart, best take preventative action and ask questions later. I heard that the CH4 reporting team have been kicked out of Bahrain, quite right. This is just another example of people wishing to feel better about themselves and spoiling the fun of the majority, they should go get one of those glow in the dark bands and use it as a halo.
Caught up on the race Sunday evening, seemed a bit random with the determining factor the tyre wear, not sure that that’s what racing should be about. Monday, Out to town, driving. No point in drinking anything apart from tap water, why pay £2.00 for the same stuff that comes out of ones domestic water supply free? Want ice and a slice sir? Decline, I can't see being at close to 0C and garnished with citrous fruit will make a glass of water a reasonable substitute for a properly constructed alcoholic beverage.
It never ceases to amaze how much the man-made global warming scam continues on despite all the evidence being highly suspect or actually not present in the first place. It will surely go down as one of the great swindles of the time when humans frequented the planet.
Sarkozeee might be in a spot of bother although I can’t see any of Le Pen’s voters voting for any of the alternatives and vice versa the Left Front muppets. My prediction is he’ll scrape in. Prince Harry to get a charity award, I like him, simple uncomplicated lad.
